Walters Group Plants 168 Trees in Partnership with One Tree Planted

Walters is proud to announce the planting of 168 trees in Ontario in partnership with One Tree Planted. This effort celebrates the Hamilton-Dartnall/Shipping/Detail plants for their exceptional performance during our annual ‘Health and Safety Week,’ held from May 6 to May 10.

This year’s ‘Health and Safety Week’ incorporated sustainability initiatives and supported the Ministry of Labour MLITSD’s Material Handling Campaign. From May 6 to May 10, a plant-wide competition focused on improving preventative maintenance for Lift Trucks and Overhead Cranes. The Hamilton-Dartnall/Shipping/Detail plants completed over 100% of their inspections, demonstrating exemplary commitment to safety. Office staff also participated, promoting material handling and environmental safety awareness.

The tree-planting initiative not only honors these achievements but also contributes to a broader environmental mission. Planting 168 trees in Ontario helps restore forest cover lost to natural disasters and land degradation. Each tree planted plays an important role in absorbing carbon dioxide, releasing oxygen, and providing habitat for wildlife. This initiative supports Walters Group vision of creating a more sustainable future, emphasizing the connection between a healthy environment and a safe workplace.
