Project News Walters Inc.

Walters Group has recently been awarded the New Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) Amphitheatre project in Vancouver, BC, in collaboration with our valued partner, EllisDon. This initiative aims to establish an entertainment hub for concerts, festivals, and community events, building upon the rich history of the PNE, which has showcased and celebrated ‘the best of British Columbia’ since 1910. This outdoor facility will feature one of the world’s largest free-span timber roof structures.

As a fabricator and erector, Walters Group will be responsible for supplying the structural steel elements and installing key components of the amphitheatre’s steel and timber roof and stage structure, ensuring structural integrity and functionality.

The new amphitheatre, nestled in the heart of the park will feature views of the North Shore Mountains and accommodate approximately 10,000 attendees, catering to a variety of events including concerts, art exhibitions and community gatherings.

“We’re thrilled to be part of this groundbreaking project in Vancouver!  Our team embraces the challenge of creating a monumental structure that pioneers sustainable practices, and being involved in the construction of one of the world’s largest free-span timber roof structures is a testament to our dedication to pushing boundaries and embracing innovation. Time to perform!”
– Sam Barret, Vice President of Pre-Construction and Sales at Walters Group.
